- To put my AirPods in pairing mode, I start by placing them in the charging case.
- Then I open the lid of the case because if the case is closed, then you cannot connect them.
- Now, press a small round setup button at the back of your case.
- I hold it for 10-15 seconds until the light flashes white. This white light means your AirPods are ready to pair.
How To Put AirPods Pro Max In Pairing Mode
- To put my AirPods Pro Max in pairing mode, I always make sure that it is not connected to any other device.
- Then, I press the noise control button for about 5 seconds.
- Once you press this, the light will start flashing white.
How To Put AirPods 4 In Pairing Mode
If you have AirPods 4 or AirPods 4 Pro,
- Open the case and place them close to the device.
- Then, double-tap the top of the case, right below the LED light, to ensure it enters pairing mode, after which you can connect it via Bluetooth.
How To Pair AirPods With An Android Device
To pair AirPods with an Android device,
- Start by placing them in their charging case. Then open the lid of the case.
- Press the setup button at the back of your case.
- Hold it for 10-15 seconds until the light flashes white.
- On your phone, Settings > Bluetooth > Pair a New Device.
- Tap the AirPods name from the list to connect.

Why Your AirPods Are Not Pairing With Another Device
With the tricks and hacks I mentioned above, you should be able to connect your AirPods to other devices. However, if you are unable to connect, then there can be many different reasons for it. One of the biggest yet most common reasons is dirty AirPods or the AirPods case.
I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but dirt and debris often get caught in your AirPods or AirPods case, which leads to this issue. Whenever this happens, I like to clean it with a microfiber cloth before using it. Another common issue is Bluetooth glitches or bugs in your device. Make sure that your phone or other devices are updated with the latest software.
If your AirPods are not pairing, I always refresh the device, and it works like magic. When my AirPods are connected to another device, I make sure to disconnect them. This is because pairing with another device gets complicated when it is already linked to one.
Finally, the last issue can be that your AirPods or your AirPods case is out of battery. In either of the cases, AirPods do not get connected to another device. So, I always make sure that my AirPods or AirPods case has enough juice in them so that I can connect and use them with another device.
