Samsung’s Bot Fit Wearable Assistive Robot – All Set To Launch In 2024!

Wearable robots are no more fantasy. Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot prototype was introduced three years ago, and it’s now ready to launch! The launch of this Samsung GEMS Hip is delayed for some reason, but now is the time!

Samsung’s Bot Fit Wearable Assistive Robot

As per the South Korean publication Financial News, Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot is all set to make its public appearance in 2024. Samsung has already applied for the trademark for Bot Fit. Bot Fit is the same assertive model created and displayed by Samsung as GEMS Hip three years ago.

Apparently, Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot seems to have finished testing and is ready to launch at CES 2024. This assistive wearable will open a new world to older people or those with limited mobility.

Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot, as reported, is eligible to pair with Samsung smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds. It simply means that you can control this gadget using your smartphone and record physical activities.

Samsung’s Bot Fit Wearable Assistive Robot Is All Set To Launch At CES 2024

The news is on the air! The Korean behemoth has completed the development and testing of the Bot Fit. As reported, the field testing is done, and sample units are distributed among the partners for further testing.

Samsung originally planned to launch the Bot Fit wearable assistive robot in 2023; however, the plan has been postponed due to many unwanted scenarios. Till now, the authorities did not reveal the exact launching date of the product. However, they are ready to reveal the first look of the product in the upcoming CES 2024.

In the report, officials mentioned, “We have already completed a pilot test with executives and employees.”, they further added, “We understand that the product will be released in the first half of next year.”

These official words are enough to believe that the product is ‘almost’ ready to hit the market, and we can expect to use the product in the first half of 2024.

Samsung’s Bot Fit Features

Now that you know that Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot is almost ready to hit the market, let’s discuss what you can expect from this smart wearable!

The prototype launched by Samsung three years ago showed how efficiently this gadget can improve walking speed while reducing excessive muscle activity as well as respiratory and metabolic energy when used by elderly people.

So, here are some key features of Bot Fit:

1. Boost Mode

The new model comes with a new feature, ‘boost’. As explained by the researchers in the clinical trial, the ‘boost mode’ will help the users to walk according to their ‘intention’. The ‘boost mode’ on these WHP (wearable hip-assisted products) will help the user to increase the walking speed as required.

The researchers at the University of Sahmyook are still analyzing the impact of the ‘boost mode’ on gait analysis. The researchers are on the verge of developing a new “Gait Index indicator” that can significantly help users with WHP. By following the index, anyone can understand the relation between the ‘boost mode’ and ‘walking quality’.

2. Aqua Mode

The WHP comes with ‘Aqua mode’ too. This aqua mode is used to recreate the effect of walking in water! This may sound odd, but this boost is created for the people who are in the rehabilitation process.

3. Controlled By Smart Devices

Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot can be paired with smart devices like Samsung smartwatch, Samsung smartphone, and earbuds, making it easier to control.

However, Bot Fit is not officially launched yet. Samsung Electronics is still working on getting FDA approval before launching the product. We may have a first look at this smart device in CES 2024.

Samsung Bot Fit Can Be Paired With Other Devices

Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot can be paired with Samsung smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds.

It simply means that users can control the WHP using their smartphone or smartwatch; sounds cool! In this way, it will be easier to track data and physical activities easily. When the user pairs the WHP with earbuds, the device can help the user with the necessary guidance through the earbuds.

How Can Samsung Bot Fit Assist Older People Or Those With Limited Mobility?

The aim of launching Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot is to assist older people and people with limited mobility.

The ‘boost mode’ featured in WHP helps people with limited mobility or elderly people to manage their walking quality. It helps to save energy and maintain good posture when covering significant distances by walking.

Now that the WHP can be connected and controlled by a smartphone or smartwatch, the user can get real-time data on physical activities and analyze the data with other health parameters.

Conclusion

It is difficult to imagine ending up in a wheelchair 24/7, no matter how advanced the technology is. Samsung’s Bot Fit wearable assistive robot is the next level WHP (wearable hip-assisted products) that comes with an assurance to the elderly and people with limited mobility to walk around and see the world on their own feet! The project is still under testing, and the launch dates are not officially declared yet. However, we can have a first glimpse of the product at CES 2024!
