Why Do My AirPods Keep Disconnecting From My Laptop?

Have you also been the victim of your AirPods disconnecting from your Laptop on their own free will? Guess I am not alone, since you are reading this too.

Why do my airpods keep disconnecting with my Laptop

Recently, I’ve been experiencing this issue frequently, and after researching it, I discovered that it can occur with any AirPods model. So, how do you fix it? Well, even before that, the bigger question is what causes this in the first place.

Why Do My AirPods Keep Disconnecting From My Laptop?

Crowded Areas

Crowded areas are a big no-no if you want to maintain a stable connection between your AirPods and your laptop. Bluetooth from all the surrounding areas can get affected, and yes, that is a real thing.

Bluetooth from other devices and the USB Port 3.0 can also lead to this problem. If you are new to this term, then USB port 3.0 can interfere with Bluetooth connections, and in a crowded area, the possibilities are endless. To resolve this issue, you can either place your AirPods near your laptop or avoid crowded areas altogether.

Software Bugs

Now, this is the most common suffering that you will have to bear, and that is software bugs. If your laptop keeps bugging you, it’s likely because you’re using outdated software that needs to be updated.

Software bugs not only create this problem but also many others. Therefore, it is always best to keep your laptop up to date to maximize its potential.

Low Power Mode

Once, my AirPods kept disconnecting from my laptop because it was in low power mode. When the computer is in low-power mode, it prevents the AirPods from functioning correctly. Moreover, Windows prevents the AirPods from draining extra battery, which is why it automatically disconnects the AirPods.

Not only this, but when one of my AirPods was dying, the entire set would automatically disconnect from the laptop.

How To Fix This Problem Once and for All

You can resolve this issue permanently with just two simple steps. Here’s what I do to ensure my AirPods connect smoothly with my laptop.

  • I simply go to the Bluetooth settings of my laptop and disconnect my AirPods. For this, I use the ‘Forget My Device’ option.
  • Next, I turn on the Bluetooth on both devices and reconnect them.

This simple hack has saved me every time from this problem, and I am sure it will help you, too. To avoid this problem in the future, you can also update your Windows and then restart it.

Wrapping Up

Being in this situation really irritated me all the time. But I already mentioned how you can fix it and what the causes are. So, hopefully, there won’t be any issues going forward.

However, if my solutions do not work, I would suggest seeking professional help. Although I did not need it, maybe the problem is bigger, which needs expert supervision to be corrected.
