Evie Ring Vs RingConn Ring — Which One Is Worth It?

As a health enthusiast, I’ve recently embarked on a quest to find the perfect smart ring to monitor my health. This led me to the intriguing choice between the Evie Ring and the RingConn Ring.

While Evie Ring’s women-centric approach drew my attention, RingConn’s diverse features piqued my interest. It made me more curious about them as I wanted the best for myself. So, I researched about them and found a lot of valuable insights that will surely help other fitness freaks before making a choice.

A Comprehensive Comparison Between the Evie Smart Ring And the RingConn Smart Ring

Comparing both rings with each other was a bit tough for me, but I enjoyed the journey. It helped me to know the minor & major details about them. I thoroughly tested their features and specifications. It helped me to figure out what could be the best for my health. Now, without further ado, let’s dive into the details.

Design, Colors, & Material

One of my major concerns was the appearance of the ring. I don’t want a bulky ring or a tacky design. Moreover, the ring must be stylish, sophisticated, and durable at the same time. Isn’t that all we want? I know you would agree with me.

I liked the Evie Ring’s open-ended design. Though RingConn Ring looked like every other round-shaped ring from the outside, it has a square-shaped oval from the inside. Evie Ring is available in Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold colors, while RingConn Ring is available in Silver, Black, and Pale Gold. So, there are only three different colors to choose from in both smart ring brands.

Comfort And Durability

The RingConn Ring is made of Titanium with a PVD coating, and the Evie Ring is made of Liquidmetal with a Titanium PVD coating. I liked the materials of both rings. Both rings are durable and resistant to heat and water.

While wearing them, I found little difference in their weights. However, I got a few scratches on my Evie Ring while doing intense exercises. Till now, I have got no dents or scratches on my RingConn Ring while doing such activities. Still, one needs to be careful as it is not scratchproof either.

While it would be difficult for females to wear the RingConn smart ring as their fingers swell due to hormonal changes or seasons, Evie Rings are better for adjusting to fingers. In my opinion, both the rings are pretty stylish and offer subtle as well as trendy colors. However, I am more inclined to the Evie Ring due to its sleek design and comfort.

Battery Life & Charging

Now, let’s talk about the next big thing- the battery life and charging options. Most users’ first concern is indeed battery life. I mean, everyone, including me, wants to have a longer battery duration with minimum charging efforts.

The Evie Ring is charged on a portable charging case. You can charge the case completely, and it will contain up to 10 charges! Isn’t it fascinating and helpful at the same time? So I don’t have to carry a charging cable or anything to charge it. The ring’s battery charge lasts up to 4 days, depending on how much I am using it, and it hardly takes an hour to get full charge.

My Ring’s Charging Time60-70 mins90-100 minutes
Official Battery Durability4+ days of battery life (varies based on usage) 7 days
My Ring’s Battery Durability3-4 days5 days

However, the charging process of the RingConn Ring is a bit different from the Evie Ring. It also has a portable charging dock where I need to put the ring to charge. However, I have to charge the case by connecting the charging dock to the power source using the given Type-C wire. Though the official website claims that it has the capacity to hold up to 18 charges, mine lasts for 14-15 only. Still, it’s higher than the Evie charging case!

Despite using the RingConn Ring continuously, its battery lasts for 5-6 days. Again, it is better in terms of battery charge. It takes me almost 90 minutes to get it fully charged.  Though both of them are pretty good in terms of charging and battery life, I find RingConn’s charging and battery life more optimized.

RingConn has an edge over Evie Ring in terms of battery life. Moreover, it holds more charges than Evie. So, I am more impressed with RingConn in this matter. If Evie had given a similar battery life, it could have given it tough competition.

Sensors

3D Accelerometer:white_check_mark::white_check_mark:

A smart device is useless if it doesn’t have good sensors. So, keeping that in mind, I looked for sensors in both the smart rings. While Evie Ring has sensors like a 3D accelerometer, Infrared PPG sensors, photodiodes, red and green LEDs, and skin temperature sensors, RingConn Ring has 4 PPG Sensors,  4 Temperature Sensors, and a 3D Accelerometer only.

As you can see, the RingConn Ring does not have photodiodes and red & green LEDs like the Evie Ring. Though Evie has more diverse sensors, RingConn Ring contains more sensors than Evie. It means that both rings are capable of measuring different health metrics. While Evie is more inclined to Women’s Health, RingConn is a gender-neutral ring.

Accuracy

RingConn and Evie are new to the market. While both of them claim to have the most accurate information, I don’t think so. They are not as accurate as the Oura Ring or Apple Watch Ultra 2. I hope that their future versions will be more accurate than they are now.

RingConn has given me almost accurate readings on Steps, Calories, and RR, as it matched Evie Ring’s readings. However, Evie has taken a step further to prove its accuracy. Unlike popular smart ring brands, Evie wants to be a medical-grade device. Its pulse oximeter is already under a full FDA review process. Evie Ring’s data on Heart Rate and SpO2 is as per FDA standards. That is something I find missing in RingConn!

In Evie, the Heart Rate tracking has only a 1BPM margin error, and SpO2 has a 2.3% margin error. In terms of accuracy, it has surpassed the FDA error margins. RingConn didn’t make any effort to get FDA-approved metrics. So, completely relying on its data is difficult for me. That’s why I keep checking and comparing data.

Though RingConn also claims to have accurate health metrics, it is not a medical-grade device either. While the RingConn smart ring does a good job of tracking real-time data, it has a scope for improvement in accuracy. So, in terms of accuracy, Evie is more reliable than RingConn.

Companion Apps

I never had any major trouble using either the Evie app or the RingConn app because they have user-friendly interfaces. Thus, it was easy to read and understand the health data on them. However, I must admit that in terms of engagement, the Evie app was better than the RingConn app. It has vibrant color structures that were missing in the RingConn app’s slides.

The Evie app describes stats and metrics in graphs, bar lines, pie charts, etc, along with details.

As you can see from the screenshots, the RingConn app shows scores and points to give insights. I liked the RingConn app’s Wellness Balance section, where I can get improvement suggestions according to ratings based on vital signs, sleep, activity, and stress.

As of now, the Evie Ring syncs only with iOS, and the app works only on iOS. The RingConn app, on the other hand, is compatible with both iOS and Android.

When I tested their features, I found that the RingConn Ring has a few important features that are missing in the Evie Ring and vice-versa.

I found RingConn Ring’s Health Reports and Health Timeline feature quite insightful as it contained lots of data on a weekly and monthly basis.

I have to analyze my Evie Ring’s data on sleep, activity, etc., to check my stress levels, but RingConn has a Stress Score. However, RingConn lacks Evie Ring’s Spot Check feature.

HSA/FSA Eligibility

For me, it is important to have cut-through deals like HSA/FSA on expensive gadgets —in this case, the smart rings! I don’t understand why not all smart rings are declared HSA/FSA eligible when they solely track our health metrics. After all, we all deserve cheap and best deals in health care, right? Thank God, this is not the case with the Evie Ring! It is HSA/FSA eligible, unlike the RingConn Ring.

I bought my Evie Ring through HSA and got a 30% discount on the actual price! However, the discount varies depending on the HSA/FSA provider. Thus, it may differ for you, depending on your provider’s policy. I had to pay full price for RingConn Ring as it was not HSA/FSA eligible.

Prices & Subscription

Given the prices of smart rings in general, affording them is not everyone’s cup of tea. The same case applies to Evie and RingConn! Evie Ring costs $269, and RingConn Ring costs $279.

I prefer Evie over RingConn because I like its design and it is comfortable to wear. Plus, some of its metrics have exceeded FDA standards in accuracy. So, I won’t bother to invest more in RingConn.

Official Price$269$279
Discounted PriceN/A$259
SubscriptionFreeFree

In terms of subscriptions, both RingConn and Evie are free. So, I don’t need to pay an additional subscription amount to access Evie’s companion app. So, it’s a fair deal.

I would prefer Evie because it has almost the same features as RingConn at a cheaper price. Though RingConn covers female-centric metrics, Evie Ring would be better to wear on my swollen fingers.

Final Verdict

I found both the Evie Ring and RingConn Smart Ring stylish, comfortable, and laced with advanced sensors. There is hardly a price difference of $10. As you might have guessed, in my opinion Evie Ring is a better choice because it is cheaper in price and tracks similar metrics to RingConn. Moreover, Evie wants to be a medical-grade device, and its data is more accurate than that of RingConn.

Further, the Evie Ring’s open-ended design is more comfortable for women wearers. One of the major limitations is that Evie is only compatible with iOS. Since RingConn is compatible with Android, non-iOS users can have it.

However, if you want to have more battery life and easy charging options, RingConn is a better choice. But on that note also, Evie’s charging box does helps me with that.

Oura is already ruling the smart ring market, and new smart rings like Evie, RingConn, etc., must have better features and accuracy to beat it and gain more users.

Wrap Up

I hope that this comparison has helped you to understand Evie and RingConn better. In terms of features and specifications, RingConn has the upper hand compared to Evie. However, I will give more points to Evie’s design. Moreover, you can buy Evie through HSA/FSA.

In my opinion, both the rings are good in terms of design and material. Though Evie’s pulse oximeter has exceeded FDA standards of accuracy, it would be better if they had officially FDA-approved metrics.

My quest to find the best smart ring on a pocket-friendly budget led me to research multiple smart rings. I have also compared RingConn with Circular Slim and Evie Ring with Ultrahuman Ring, which will help you learn more about them. So, don’t miss them out!
