I have spent $269 on my Evie Ring. While many would say the ring is a worthy investment in my health, it keeps me on the edge a lot of times. What if I accidentally bump it against the kitchen counter? Or what if it suffers senor damage because I took a dip in the pool with the ring on?
My clumsy, slightly reckless lifestyle could be hazardous to my Evie Ring. So, I decided to familiarize myself with my Evie Smart ring’s warranty and see if it covers my clumsiness or if my future is soon going to be ringless.
Below are the nitty-gritty details of my findings that will interest people who are as active and clumsy (actively clumsy?) as me.
Understand Evie Smart Ring Warranty Here!
Like most smart rings out there, my Evie Smart ring offers a limited warranty for a period of one year that safeguards me against defects arising due to materials and workmanship. The warranty started from the date of my purchase and will go on for a year from then.
So, if I face any errors that arise due to things like faulty components or manufacturing during this period, I can very well claim a replacement for my ring.
What Does The Warranty Cover?
Even though I did understand what the warranty could cover and for how long, I still dug deeper. I wanted to see if my accidental clumsiness was truly going to be unaccounted for. And well, here are the specifics of what the ring will cover:
- Ring malfunction: If my Evie Ring completely stopped working or became unresponsive, then I can claim warranty replacement.
- Sensor Problems: If I am facing any difficulties with the ring sensors that are affecting the heart rating monitoring, sleep tracking, etc. functionalities, that can be covered under warranty as well.
What Isn’t Covered Under The Warranty?
By this point, it was clear to me that Evie wasn’t going to be held responsible for my mistakes. And well, truly enough, these are the things that the warranty will not cover:
- Accidental damage: If my ring malfunctions because of any drops, bumps, or any other sort of physical damage arising out of my negligence, then that is not going to be covered by warranty. (This means damaging the ring in the gym is on me *sad noises*).
- Wear and tear: Any damage arising out of everyday wear and tear won’t be covered either.
- Battery: The one-year warranty doesn’t cover batteries. So, even if the battery of my Evie Ring deviates from what was advertised, I won’t be able to claim a warranty replacement. I want to argue that the deviations could be because of some manufacturing defect, but there doesn’t seem to be any scope for doing that right now.
- Third-party modifications & repairs: If I get any modifications done to my ring by tampering with its internal components, then I can’t claim a warranty. Similarly, any company can do some kind of maintenance repairs, if needed, on my Evie Ring. However, damage that happened at the hands of unauthorized third-party services in such cases will not be covered in the warranty.
- Water Damage: Evie Ring offers water resistance up to 1M. But, if I stretch this limit, let’s say, go scuba diving with my Evie Ring on, then the resultant damage will not be covered by the warranty.
- Natural calamity: Any damage to my Evie Ring caused by an act of God, like flood, earthquakes, etc., will not be covered in the warranty.
Warranty On Replacement Ring
Now, all of this means that I can claim a warranty on my Evie Ring *under certain terms and conditions*, of course. But, I did not have the surety whether the replacement ring was going to work perfectly well or not.
For all I knew, it could suffer the same fate. And so, it was important for me to have some sort of security for the replacement ring as well. Conveniently enough, Movano Health does provide users with one— just with a twist.
The warranty on the replacement ring that I get will depend on how much time I still have left on my original ring. This means if I still had a lot of time left, let’s say more than 90 days, then the replacement ring is going to be covered for the rest of the year as well.
However, if I was close to the end of the warranty period of the first ring, let’s say less than 90 days were left, then the warranty coverage would not be for the whole year. In this case, the replacement ring will have a warranty period of 90 days only.
Anyway, I know the warranty period isn’t much. But it is still some sort of safety (better than having nothing if you ask me!)
How Do I Claim My Evie Ring Warranty?
I wanted to be prepared for if and when I run into troubles with my Evie Ring and have to claim a replacement. So, I did my research beforehand and sort of tried following the process just to see what it would look like if I ever had to do it. The process is shared below:
- Gather Information
- Before initiating a request for replacement, it’s important to have proof of purchase for the Evie Ring in hand. For example, the order number of the Evie Ring that I received in the order confirmation mail can be used here.
- It’s also crucial to have a detailed description of the problem at hand.
- Contact Movano Health:
- Once all that information is at hand, it’s time to visit the Evie’s Support page and select the “Submit a request” button in purple.
- Submit a Request:
- Selecting the purple button opens a request form page. From the drop-down menu bar present below the “Submit a request” heading, the “I have an Evie Ring” option has to be selected.
- Fill out The Request Form:
- Doing this opens another page that looks like a form because of all the different fields it has.
- To finally request a replacement form, one has to fill out all the fields, i.e.
- Your email address
- Select an issue from the “What type of issue you’re facing” dropdown.
- Write a well-defined subject.
- Write a description of the problem you’re facing.
- Filling the “Attachments” field is optional. However, attaching proof of purchase or any relevant image can only help make the case stronger. I wouldn’t ever leave it blank.
- Submit the Form:
- When all of this is done, select the “Submit” option located at the bottom in purple.
- Wait for The Approval:
- Even after doing all this, warranty service will only be provided if the replacement request is approved by Movano Health. So, give them some time to assess your request and make a decision.
- They will reach out to you with a response to your request in a day or two (it can take longer sometimes) and take the process further after analyzing your request. They will let you know if you’re eligible for a warranty replacement or not. The process further will depend on their response.
However, an important point to be noted here is that I didn’t contact customer support immediately. I first tried resolving the issues on my own with some simple troubleshooting methods.
For example, I tried resetting the ring, ensuring that the ring had a proper charge and that my issues weren’t caused by a lack of battery, cleaning the sensor parts of the ring with a damp cloth, etc. And only when doing these things didn’t work I reached out to customer support.

Wrap Up
So, I hope you’re now familiar with the nitty gritty detais with the warranty of an Evie Ring. There are a lot of terms and considerations in place for us to finally be able for a replacement ring– as they should be.
All in all, I think I will have to be a tad bit more careful with the handling of my Evie Ring. Because even though Movano Helath covers damages due to faulty components and workmanship errors, it won’t cater to my clumsiness. Poor me.
