Apple Watch Series 10 vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 7

In an era of smartwatches and technology, the beef between Apple and Samsung is always entertaining, especially when it comes to smartwatches. I am always updated on this matter because smartwatches are one of my favorite tech pieces.

Apple Watch Vs Samsung Galaxy

I rely on my smartwatches for my day-to-day activities. As much as this topic is interesting, it would be great to know which of these two is the best. If you are baffled and want to know which investment would be better, here is everything you need to know before making that final decision.

Price

I have to admit that the significant difference between the Apple Watch Series 10 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 always comes down to price. Just like most people, pricing does influence my final decision, and this makes me gravitate towards the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

The prices of both watches differ depending on the features you opt for. If you go for the base model of Apple Watch Series 7, then the price is $299, and that of Samsung is $349. However, the prices vary depending on the Bluetooth or LTE model and the colors as well.

Needless to say, no matter how expensive Samsung Galaxy watches get, Apple Watches are always going to be one step ahead. To save some bucks, you can visit different online stores and check for discounts.

Battery Life

As much as price influences my final decision, I do have to mention that smart watches with poor battery life are a major turnoff. I find the battery life of the Apple Watch Series 10 to be lacking compared to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.

While my Samsung Galaxy watch lasts me up to 36 hours on standard use, the Apple Watch Series 10 only lasts for up to 24 hours.  Even in low power mode, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 can last up to 72 hours, whereas the Apple Watch Series 10 can only last for 36 hours. To make up for this, Apple Watch Series 10 does have a fast charging ability, which can charge your battery fully in an hour, while Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 requires around 90 minutes or more.

Now you may believe that it depends on usage and display light, which is absolutely correct. However, the notable difference in battery life clearly gives an idea of which smart watch can perform better for a longer period of time.

Design And Fit

I know looks matter, which is why I like the Samsung Galaxy 7 over the Apple Watch Series 10. It is equipped with AMOLED and has a traditional round look. The Apple Watch Series 10, on the other hand, has a rectangular design with round edges.

Both watches are available in many different finishes and sizes. Due to this, there is a difference in the weight of both. Apple watches are lighter and look good for everyday use. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, on the other hand, looks more sporty. Another good thing I like about these watches is that they come with multiple band options to cater to diverse users’ preferences.

Health And Fitness

If you are a health freak, then this section will concern you the most. While Apple Watch Series 10 boasts incredible health and fitness metrics, there are areas in which the Samsung Galaxy Watch beats it.

Both watches offer heart rate monitoring, ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, and stress monitoring. These watches also come with automatic workout detection modes for swimming, running, and advanced workouts.

However, my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 can do body composition analysis using a BioActive sensor, which the Apple Watch Series 10 cannot. This feature of the Samsung watch allows one to measure muscle weight and body fat, which I find helpful after my workout sessions.

Custom Workouts

If you are a fitness coach or do not follow a rulebook for your workouts, you need a smartwatch that can regulate and register custom workouts. You will be glad to know that both of these watches have this feature.

You can add your custom workouts, name them, set goals, and start training. Both of these watches help measure distance, time, and calories. However, the Apple Watch Series 10 is able to support training with an interval period as well. This feature is lacking in Samsung, which can be a major drawback for those who take a longer interval between their sets.

However, Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 bounces back by offering 100+ custom workout types, whereas Apple Watch Series 10 only provides 90+ custom workouts. Based on your workout scheme, you can pick one that is suitable for you and gives you maximum returns.

Sleep Tracking

You might be aware that both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Apple Watch Series 10 come with advanced sleep tracking features. Both of these watches have sleep stage tracking and a sleep apnea detection system. However, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 proves to be a better choice because of certain features.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 offers advanced sleep detection metrics, including snore detection, skin temperature detection, and blood oxygen detection. Apple Watch Series 10, on the other hand, also offers these but needs a third-party app for snoring detection. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 also comes with its own sleep coach, which the Apple Watch Series 10 lacks.

However, a major win in this area for the Apple Watch Series 10 is that it has FDA-approved breathing disturbance detection (sleep apnea), which Samsung does not. Just like you, I was also surprised when I heard of this feature. This feature analyzes breathing patterns during sleep. However, you can only avail this feature if you have Ultra 2 or Series 9 and 10.

Menstrual Tracking

Having a smartwatch with menstrual tracking abilities is a must in today’s world. I was very excited to observe and compare the key differences between the two watches in this area.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 has a cycle tracking app that uses skin temperature to predict periods, fertile window and ovulation. Cool right?

But this feature is available on Apple Watch Series 10 as well. Apple uses its wrist temperature data and the deviations from its baseline to predict ovulation and period dates.

Although both watches seem similar in this area, none of them are FDA-approved.

User Interface

For beginners, it is very important to rely on a smartwatch that is easy to use. The User Interface of Apple Watch Series 10 has a large, bright interface. It also has a digital crown and side buttons to make it easier for users to access settings.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, on the other hand, relies on touchscreen features. Whenever I have to make any changes in the settings, I have to use the touchscreen for that feature. It also comes with a rotating bezel and a circular, always-on display.

Wrapping Up

After going through this detailed analysis, I am sure that you will be able to make up your mind. Personally, I like my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 over the Apple Watch Series 10 becuase it offers so many features at such an affordable price.

Also, if you compare the two, you will observe that the Samsung Galaxy 7 has a major advantage over the Apple Watch Series 10 in most areas. However, I would leave it up to you, as it depends on your personal choices and lifestyle.
