While Oura gives me a holistic view with calculated scores, Fitbit has an expertise advantage. So, I synced my Oura Ring with the Fitbit.
Now, I don’t have to place my entire trust in the accuracy of any one fitness tracker’s metrics; I can maximize my health tracking and get the most out of both devices. Interesting! Isn’t it? So, C’mon, while I explain how to sync Oura Ring with Fitbit on iOS and Android devices.
Can Oura Ring Sync with Fitbit Directly?
Oura Ring does not offer direct integration with Fitbit; however, Oura users can indirectly sync Oura Ring with Fitbit by using intermediary apps or platforms that support both devices.
For Android devices, Strava and Health Connect can be used to sync the Oura Ring with Fitbit while Strava is a perfect alternative for iOS devices to connect Fitbit with Oura.
For those who don’t know-
Health Connect by Android is a platform designed to simplify connectivity between apps. It is Google’s official platform to store and connect health-tracking data between supported devices. However, it does not itself track any data.
Strava is a social network for fitness enthusiasts and athletes. It records an activity in your feed where friends and followers can share their own performances and leave comments on others. By integrating my Oura with Strava, I also got credit for Strava activities in the Oura App and access to share my Oura workouts with friends.
After learning the benefits of integrating, I know you must have been excited to club the data generated by the two Health trackers. So, here is how I synced my Oura Ring with Fitbit-
How To Connect Oura Ring With Fitbit?
To connect our Oura with Fitbit through mediator apps, there are few prerequisites we need to keep in mind. I remember when I synced my Oura Ring with Fitbit, I made sure that-
- Both my devices are up-to-date.
- Health Connect or Strava is downloaded on the Connected Device (Mobile connected with Oura Ring & Fitbit)
- Mobile is synced with both devices.
- The Health Connect or Strava App is up-to-date.
How To Sync Oura Ring With Fitbit On Android?
I synced my Oura Ring with Fitbit on an Android device using Health Connect. For this, I first synced my Oura data to Health Connect and then synced Fitbit to Health Connect to connect the two gadgets.
1. Sync Oura Ring To Health Connect
- Open the Oura app> Tap the Hamburger icon.
- Open Settings> Data Sharing.
- Click on Health Connect.
- Toggle Allow All or choose the data fields you want to sync with Health Connect and turn on the toggles.
2. Sync Fitbit To Health Connect
- Open the Fitbit app> Today Tab.
- Tap the Devices icon.
- In the Add Connections section, tap Set up Health Connect.
- Tap on Set up > I agree.
- Toggle Allow all or select the parameters under Allow Fitbit to ‘read’ and Allow Fitbit to ‘write’.
- Click on Allow.
- Tap on Continue.
3. View the Compiled Metrics
The Health Connect app will update all the data collected by your Oura Ring and Fitbit. Now you have the option of viewing data on either the Fitbit app or the Oura App.
However, I prefer to use the Oura app to get a holistic view of all my data metrics because the data collected by Fitbit also affects my Readiness, Activity, and Sleep Score.
How To Sync Oura Ring With Fitbit On iPhone?
I synced my Oura Ring with Fitbit on my iPhone using Strava. To connect the two gadgets, I had to first sync my Oura data to Strava and then sync Fitbit to the Strava app.
1. Sync Oura Ring To Strava
- Open the Oura app> Tap the Hamburger icon.
- Open Settings> Data Sharing>App Integrations.
- Click on Strava> Continue.
- Log in to Strava.
- Tap “Authorize”.
- Choose the data you want to Import or Export.
2. Sync Fitbit To Strava
- Open the Strava app on your iPhone.
- Go to the You Section at the bottom right.
- Tap on Settings icon at the top right corner.
- Select Connect an app or device.
- Select Fitbit from the list of devices. Hit Connect Fitbit.
- Log in to your Fitbit account.
- Tick off the information you want to link.
- Tap “Authorize” to authorize your Fitbit to connect to Strava
- Allow All or Tick off the data fields you want to Sync.
- Tap on Allow.
- Click on OK, got it.
- You will be directed to Fitbit’s Dashboard.
3. View the Compiled Metrics
The Strava app will update all the data collected by your Oura Ring and Fitbit. We can see Fitbit data on Strava and Strava data on the Oura app.
Finally, we can make our Oura Ring work with Fitbit and access Fitbit’s data on Oura App.
What happened after I synced my Oura Ring with Fitbit?
Integrating my Oura Ring with Fitbit combines the strengths of both devices. The Oura Ring is excellent for monitoring sleep and recovery metrics, while Fitbit excels in tracking active hours and exercise.
Together, I observed that they provide a comprehensive overview of my health. It allows for a more holistic view of my health and activity patterns. This ultimately leads to more personalized insights and improves the accuracy of health suggestions, from sleep improvement strategies to workout adjustments.
Data Synced Between the Apps
While connecting the Oura Ring with Fitbit using Strava on iPhone and Health Connect on Android, a number of data points are shared between the apps. Here’s a list of all the metrics imported or exported while syncing Oura with Fitbit.
Note- I have observed if a single workout is recorded on multiple platforms, it will only appear once in the Oura App with the most reliable recorded data.

Data Synced Between Oura And Strava
Workouts synced from Strava will show up on both the Home and Activity tabs within the Oura App. These activities count towards your Activity Score and help you move closer to reaching your daily activity target However, workouts that are manually added or automatically recorded through Automatic Activity Detection in Oura are not currently exported to Strava.
