Being a tech-savvy person, I am always fiddling with my smartwatch to get to know its features. I have a cellular Apple Watch. However, I was in a grave situation where I was unable to activate my eSIM on my Apple Watch.

Now, of course, AppleCare can help you with it, but for me, it seemed like something I could do on my own. Luckily, I was correct, and by following accurate steps and a few hacks, I was able to activate it by myself. If you want to know all about how to do it, then keep on reading until the end.
How To Activate Esim On Apple Watch
- I start by going to Settings on my iPhone.
- Then I click on the Mobile Data option.
- There, I click on the ‘Add eSIM’ option.
- This shows me the list of carriers that will be compatible with my eSIM.
- I select the one that fits the best, and the plan is activated.

Why eSIM Is Not Getting Activated On Your Apple Watch
Not Logged In With Similar ID
If you are logged in with different Apple IDs, then it is given that your Apple Watch will not work. You need to log in to your iPhone and Apple Watch with the same ID so that it works seamlessly without any glitches.
You need the Same Carrier For iPhone and Apple Watch
If you are not using the same carrier for iPhone and Apple Watch, then your eSIM will not work. Unfortunately, both devices need a similar carrier for them to function smoothly.
Moreover, Apple Watch relies on the iPhone for its activation. Again, the carrier needs to be similar, or the process won’t take place. Lastly, I believe it can be Apple’s policy to have a reliable and secure network to keep the process hassle-free.
Use A Plan That supports iPhone and Apple Watch
If the plan that you use does not support an Apple Watch, it will not work. Unfortunately, not all mobile plans support Apple Watch. Hence, you need to go for a plan and carrier that supports both.
Final Thoughts
To fix the issue, I either play around with the settings or restart the devices. This hack usually saves me from a lot of my problems. However, if it still does not work, then I urge you to get professional help from AppleCare professionals.
You can also connect with carrier professionals to get support. If you have a cellular Apple Watch with an active eSIM, then I know how frustrating it can get. However, with the tips and problems I mentioned above, you can find an easy solution and end your worries.
