It is 2025, and I do not have the energy to look at a virtual keyboard and type. Texting is a hassle for me. Maybe it’s me getting old, 25!? When I tell you voice texting is my savior, I mean it. I am able to chat better, communicate better, and I feel like I have more to say than type.
If you are anything like me, you would jump on the change of voice texting directly from your Apple Watch. I mean, why not? It is super simple, so if you haven’t figured it out yet. I am here for you.
Voice Text on Apple Watch
- On your iMessage app on Apple Watch, open a chat.
- Click on the text box.
- Now, a blank screen with a cursor will appear on the screen. Click on the pointed finger icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Click on the mic icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Start speaking the message you want to send as a text. When you’re done recording, simply press the Done option.
And that is how you dictate or send voice texts on Apple Watch.
Send A Voice Message on Apple Watch
- Open the iMessages app on your Apple Watch.
- Next to the text message, click on the + icon.
- Now, click on Audio and hit Send.

Basically, all you need to do to voice text is open the chat and make a few clicks. If you haven’t tried voice texting before–Try it once. You wouldn’t realize how it will become your go-to.
