I really hate it when my Apple Watch acts high and looks like someone has done some voodoo on it. One such act is when my Apple Watch rings, but not my iPhone, when I receive a call.
Seems a bit scary to me, just like the Ghost Touch problem. However, unlike the said issue, there’s an actual fix to Apple Watch ringing without the iPhone. So let’s get into it.
Why Your iPhone Is Not Ringing But Your Apple Watch Is Ringing?
1. iPhone Is On Silent
If your iPhone is on silent and connected to your Apple Watch, then your iPhone won’t ring, but your Apple Watch will. This also applies if your ringtone is not at its peak volume. Happens to me all the time!
2. Notification
If your iPhone settings are off or set to banners only, then your iPhone won’t ring. You can check the Notifications in Settings. Then scroll down to Phone and make sure it is toggled on.
3. Connected By Bluetooth
Apple Watch receives all calls on a priority basis if the iPhone and Watch are connected via Bluetooth. The chances of this happening are much higher when you’re actually wearing to watch. Again, something that the settings do and which is not actually a problem.
4. Do Not Disturb
This one is pretty easy. My introvert self puts phone on DND all the freaking time. And then when my Apple Watch startles me with a loud ringing, I would wonder what happened to it.
So, guys, please don’t be like me.
5. Focus Modes
If your iPhone is in focus mode, like sleeping, working, or driving, then your iPhone won’t ring. Instead, your Apple Watch will make the ring. Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your watch, yet.
6. Ringtone Issues
Another basic cause can be a low ringer volume or a malfunctioning speaker that redirects the alerts to your Apple Watch. The chances of this happening are way too low, as it will only happen in old iPhone gadgets.

How to fix this?
This is probably one of the easiest fixes I have given. Keep your phone on loud. No DND, no focus, no more turning your phone on Silent. Once you do this, turn off your Bluetooth and get someone to call you only to check whether your iPhone rings or your Apple Watch.
Wrapping Up
Now you know why your Apple Watch is ringing but not your iPhone. Next time you seem worried about this situation, you know how to deal with it. Also, if you know someone who is prone to facing these similar problems, then share this article with them for a good day.
