5 Ways To Check Battery On Apple Watch

Let’s be honest, the only reason why I have a love-hate relationship with my Apple Watch is because of its battery.

There is no reason to hate my Apple Watch otherwise. And because of the very short battery life, staying on top of its battery helps me never get caught off guard with a dead watch on my hand.

Here are five ways you can easily check your Apple Watch’s battery status.

Option 1: Using Control Center

The quickest way to check your Apple Watch’s battery is to open the Control Center. Head back to your watch face if you’re using an app and click the side button to access the Control Center if you’re using watchOS 10 and above.

For watchOS 9 and below, swipe up from your watch face’s screen to access the Control Center. This is where the battery percentage is displayed and you can even tap this to activate Low Power Mode if the battery percentage is low.

Option 2: Using Settings

To check the battery percentage, stats, and even the battery health, head into your Apple Watch settings for a detailed view. Open Settings on your Apple Watch and tap Battery to see all the details, such as battery performance in the last 24 hours and when the Apple Watch was last charged.

Option 3: Using the watch face

Another convenient way to check the battery percentage on your Apple Watch is simply to add it to a watch face that supports complications. To add a battery complication:

  1. Touch and hold the watch face display and swipe all the way to the end and tap the ‘plus’ sign.
  2. Using the Digital Crown, turn and browse all available watch faces and tap ‘Add’ on a watch face that supports complications.
  3. Tap on ‘Edit’ and select a complication. Turn the Digital Crown and select Battery. Click the Digital Crown to head back to your now customised watch face.

Another way to add this complication to your watch face is through the Watch app on your iPhone.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Select the watch face you want to add to your Apple Watch and tap on it.
  3. Choose a complication you want to edit and replace with the battery percentage and tap on it.
  4. Under Complications, select Battery.
  5. Tap on Set as the current Watch Face

Option 4: Using your iPhone

Another way to check the battery percentage of your Apple Watch is to add a widget to your iPhone. To do this,

When you put your Apple Watch on charging, it turns into a Nightstand mode. Here, I can tap the battery charging icon and check how much my battery has charged. In case this setting is not enabled, head into the Settings app on your Apple Watch. Head to General > Nightstand Mode and toggle on Nightstand Mode.

This way, you can make sure you almost never run out of battery on your Apple Watch at the worst times.
