Circular Ring 3 at IFA 2026: Features, Health Tracking, NFC Payments and What Makes It Different

Smart rings have a funny little job. They quietly sit on your finger, track almost everything they can and then leave you reaching for your phone whenever you actually want to do something.

Well, Circular seems to think that is a little unfair. At IFA 2026 in Berlin, the company introduced the Circular Ring 3, its latest attempt to make smart rings a little more useful beyond health tracking. And this time, Circular has added a few tricks that could make that tiny ring on your finger feel a lot less passive. So, what exactly has changed? Let’s take a closer look.

Circular Ring 3 Was One of the Biggest Smart Ring Announcements at IFA 2026

The tech community came together in Berlin at IFA 2026 and there were wearables all around. It did not take long before the Circular Ring 3 series became one of the most discussed launches at IFA 2026.

French wearables company Circular launched two models, the Circular Ring 3 Pro and the Circular Ring 3 Slim. The company itself may not be a newcomer in the field of wearables, but it is getting into an extremely competitive arena of smart rings where only titans exist. They could not simply launch yet another sleep monitor, therefore, they had something big to bring to the table.

Some of the major changes that can be made for this new generation include features such as NFC payments, haptic vibration alerts, better titanium designs and advanced health-tracking sensors. All of this is significant in its own way as it takes care of the biggest problem that smart rings face today, inactivity. As compared to other rings, the Circular Ring 3 is designed in such a way that it is going to be something that you actually interact with during the course of your day.

What Is Circular Ring 3?

Circular Ring 3 is a smart ring series that is designed to monitor your health while also making your daily life a little more convenient.  There are two variants available according to the type of customer. These two models include the Circular Ring 3 Pro and the Circular Ring 3 Slim.

The Circular Ring 3 Pro is the flagship device. This ring is made for someone who wants every single health indicator in their ring such as ECG and blood pressure measurements. It is slightly thicker but packs a massive array of sensors for comprehensive health monitoring.

On the other hand, the Circular Ring 3 Slim is made for those who prioritize a lightweight, barely-there design. It drops a few of the advanced medical sensors to achieve a much thinner profile, making it ideal for users who want a minimal smart ring experience focused on core metrics like sleep and daily activity.

Both models are also available in four finishes: Gold, Silver, Rose Gold and Anthracite Black, giving users a few options to match the ring with their personal style.

What unites both versions of the Circular Ring 3 is their positioning. Circular wants these rings to be health-focused, yes, but they also want them to be practical lifestyle accessories. Whether you choose the Pro or the Slim, you are getting a device that tracks your body’s data and connects with Circular’s AI-driven health assistant app, Kira, to help you make sense of it all.

The Biggest Circular Ring 3 Upgrade: NFC Payments and Haptic Feedback

For years, users have asked why they cannot simply pay for things with their smart rings. The Circular Ring 3 finally answers that call. The addition of NFC payments is arguably the biggest upgrade in this generation. By supporting contactless payments through compatible Visa and Mastercard accounts, the Circular Ring 3 allows you to tap to pay at checkout without ever reaching for your wallet or your phone. This transforms the ring from a silent observer into an active tool for your daily life.

But payments are only half of the story. The return of haptic feedback is a massive win for the Ring 3. Both models feature a vibration motor built into the inner rim. Why does this matter? Because it gives the ring a way to communicate with you without a screen.

The vibration alerts on the Ring 3 can be used for:

  • Silent alarms to wake you up without disturbing your partner.
  • Medication and hydration reminders.
  • Biofeedback to guide your breathing exercises.
  • Real-time health notifications, such as a heart rate spike.

Most smart rings only collect data and rely on your smartphone for all interactions. By adding tap to pay and vibration alerts, the Ring 3 directly addresses this common limitation, making it an incredibly useful daily companion.

Circular Ring 3 Health Features: What Can It Track?

While the everyday smart features are exciting, the Circular Ring 3 is still a health tracker at its core. Both models cover the daily essentials, but the Pro model takes things to a whole new level.

The Ring 3 tracks heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep stages, skin temperature changes and daily activity levels. The data syncs to Circular’s AI-driven app, Kira, which provides personalized guidance.

However, the Ring 3 Pro introduces some incredibly advanced capabilities:

  • ECG Tracking: The Pro model includes an FDA-cleared ECG sensor designed to detect signs of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).
  • Blood Pressure Trends: While it does not give exact clinical readings, it estimates your blood pressure trends over time to help you spot changes.
  • Glucose Trend Insights: The Pro model also promises non-invasive glucose insights to track wellness trends.

It is crucial to state clearly that some of these features, like blood pressure and glucose monitoring, provide estimates and trends rather than exact medical diagnostics. The health tracking on the Ring 3 does not replace professional medical devices or doctors. However, as a wellness tool, the sheer amount of data the Ring 3 Pro collects is impressive.

Circular Ring 3 Pro vs Circular Ring 3 Slim: What Is the Difference?

If you are planning to buy a Circular Ring 3, you need to know which model fits your lifestyle. They look similar on the outside, but their internal capabilities and physical dimensions are quite different. Here is a simple breakdown of the Ring 3 Pro versus the Circular Ring 3 Slim:

How Circular Ring 3 Compares With Other Smart Rings

In the wearable segment, competition can be quite intense and the Circular Ring 3 is positioned exactly in the area of battle between the two titans of the industry. When you choose a purchase from the general line of smart rings, you need to understand how the brand compares to others such as the Oura Ring 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Ring.

To begin with, the Circular Ring 3 makes it quite obvious that it specializes in additional interaction functions. Thus, it is safe to say that all advantages of the gadget are associated with everyday convenience and include such features as tap to pay and vibration alerts. Meanwhile, the competitors’ smart rings such as Oura Ring 5 highlight their well-known reputation based on research and analysis of the health-related metrics of the owner. However, while being great at sleep and recovery analysis, Oura Ring 5 does not have any payment or vibration features available in the Circular model.

In the meantime, Samsung smart ring devices take advantage of their strong compatibility with Android smartphones and Galaxy watches for a smooth hardware experience. But just like Oura, Samsung Galaxy Ring is missing some features, such as tap to pay capabilities and haptic feedback. At the end of the day, there is no absolute winner here. Everything boils down to whether you care about the interactive nature of Circular, the tried and true health analytics of Oura or the brand loyalty of Samsung.

Can Circular Solve the Biggest Problem With Smart Rings?

The major issue with any kind of smart ring is related to the very nature of this device. It is a great passive tracker but does not have any screen or interface that would allow direct interaction. For many users, a smart ring becomes an item that can work only if an application on their phone opens.

The Circular Ring 3 tries to address this very issue. Due to the presence of an NFC chip and a vibration motor, the Circular Ring 3 tries to turn into a proactive device. Receiving a gentle buzz from it reminding about medication taking or using it for payments while tapping one’s hand for it, all of these actions make the ring a relevant item throughout the day. Even though such functionality addition does not give any display to the device, this surely helps to push the genre further.

Circular Ring 3 Availability and Pricing

Circular Ring 3 is currently available through a waitlist. Although Circular Ring 3 Pro and Circular Ring 3 Slim can be found on the official website of the company, they cannot be purchased currently.

According to the company, pre-ordering will start in December 2026, when pricing information will also be revealed. Delivery dates and subscription information have not been officially disclosed yet.

Wrap Up

The Circular Ring 3 is shaping up to be more than just another health tracking ring. With NFC payments, haptic alerts on the Pro and a wider set of health features, Circular is trying to make the ring a little more useful in everyday life.

It is still too early to know how well all of this works in the real world, but one thing is clear: Circular wants your smart ring to do more than simply sit on your finger and collect data.
