It’s time to ditch your old and traditional mobile device now and embrace the new revolutionary Humane Ai Pin. Many among us who are anticipating to pre-order are mainly concerned with whether we can use our old phone number on Humane Ai Pin and leverage the never seen before features. It’s been a long relationship after all, in this era of communication phone numbers are like your blood group, the recognition and trait which connects us with many around the globe.

A tiny device which merges with your daily wear so smoothly and does the maximum amount of tasks which otherwise would take time and effort, it also offers many other features which already exist in any smartphone but the way they operate here is never seen before. It’s currently available in the U.S region only and specifically runs on a e-SIM offered on subscription basis by the Humane Ai in partnership with T-mobile.

Porting your mobile phone number from one network to another is something which we see happening and do by ourselves quite easily, but is this same facility being provided for Humane Ai Pin will impact the decisions of many who are planning to buy it. This post will discuss the old phone number portability and other queries which many among us are perplexed about.

Can We Use Our Old Phone Number On Humane Ai Pin?

No, the Humane Ai Pin is not equipped with a facility to accommodate your old phone number. Maybe in the near future post the deliveries in sufficient numbers, Humane Ai might think about the mobile phone number portability for its Ai Pin.

You will need to buy a Human Ai Pin subscription for $24/month + taxes and fees. The subscription includes;

  • A dedicated phone number for your Ai Pin
  • Unlimited talk, text, and data within the U.S.
  • Unlimited texting to international numbers from the U.S.
  • Voicemail and voicemail transcription
  • Three-way calling
  • Call waiting
  • Caller ID

Humane Ai Pin works with e-SIM and has launched its own MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) connected by its exclusive U.S. partner, T-Mobile. Humane Ai Pin supports only e-SIM and the network will support this connection with LTE/3G for voice calls and remote data with the capability and range of Dual Antenna MIMO FDD‑LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 26, 66, 71) TDD‑LTE (Bands 38, 41) UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz) eSim and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) with 2.4GHz + 5GHz.

It’s the primary concern where people are planning to replace it with their existing large screen mobile phones, but if it comes with the change of their mobile phone number identity, it could definitely impact the sales, as in this fast paced world not everyone could afford a change of their virtual identity.

Why We Can’t Use Our Old Phone Number On Humane Ai Pin?

You can’t use your old phone number on Humane Ai Pin for the following reasons;

  • The Subscriber Identity Module (including eSim, “SIM”) card provided by Humane Ai must only be used with an Ai Pin.
  • Humane Ai could immediately suspend or terminate the users’ subscription if this requirement is violated.
  • Humane Ai may periodically program Ai Pin remotely with system settings for roaming service and other features also,that otherwise cannot be changed manually.
  • The Humane Ai Pin purchased for use on Humane’s network may not function on other networks.
  • Users’ must acknowledge that, except as required by law, they shall acquire no proprietary interest in the specific telephone (MDN) number (the “Number”) or SIM card assigned by Humane Ai for their use.
  • The user will have no ownership rights to the Number. Humane Ai reserves the right to change users’ number assigned, by serving a notice of the change.
  • Users voluntarily not assign the number or the Ai Pin’s Electronic Serial Number (“ESN”) to any other Ai Pin.
  • Users may not program any other number into the Ai Pin. These acts are considered fraud, entitling Humane Ai to cancel or suspend the subscription.

Adopting Ai And Moving Beyond Numbers and Limitations

This screenless thought and subsequent approach to materialize the same, does signify different functionalities. The Ai Pin uses an eSIM powered by Humane Ai and T-mobile, which is embedded by default, within the device. The subscription for the same can be started by a prior notification from the company itself, once your Ai Pin is shipped. Unlike the regular physical SIM cards, eSIMs cannot be swapped, ensuring that the phone number remains the same to the specific Ai Pin.

The Humane Ai Pin isn’t a replacement for a smartphone, it’s however your new companion but on a different mission. Moving away from the devices which take our attention, now imagine a device that prioritizes focus, offering relevant information only without the constant usage of screens and apps. That’s the core principle and philosophy behind the building of Humane Ai Pin.

Conclusion

Currently the Humane Ai Pin is limited to its own number only, the Ai Pin device and its whole ecosystem is still very new and gradually evolving. Who knows in the next coming future, minor to major moderations might explore options like portability of existing phone numbers or offering more flexibility in managing communication channels offered by such devices.

As deliveries will start in March 2024, user feedback will be gathered and as the technology matures, the Humane Ai approach to phone numbers may adapt and vary with time.
