One of the most common queries related to smart rings is whether they are waterproof or not. Since it is nearly impossible to remove and wear the ring every time you have some water-related work, one must know whether the smart ring can withstand the pressure. Here, I will tell you if RingConn is waterproof or not.
I have been wearing the RingConn Ring for the past few months and have observed it pretty much in every condition. From daily chores to occasional holidays, the RingConn Ring has remained with me in every condition, including water activities. By far, I can say that the RingConn Ring is only water-resistant and not waterproof.
What Does RingConn Says About Its Smart Ring’s Water Resistance Capacity?
According to RingConn, it has an IP68 water-resistant rating. It can withstand water up to 165 feet or 50 meters. So, the smart ring can be worn while bathing, swimming, and indulging in water activities.
I wear the ring when I wash my hands, do dishes, and do everything I do on a daily basis. Since I sweat a lot when I workout, the ring is also exposed to sweating in my hands and still functions perfectly.
Moreover, the operating temperature range for the RingConn ring is 14°F – 104°F or -10°C – 40°C. So, the ring should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long durations and should not be kept close to hot appliances as well.
One important thing to keep in mind is that it is not wise to submerge the RingConn Ring in water for longer durations. Otherwise, it would damage the ring. Since the ring is suitable for bathing, swimming, etc., the duration of water contact shouldn’t exceed prolonged hours.
I had not tested for a long time in the water, and there is no official information on how long the ring can be submerged in the water, so I can’t comment on this.
I have compiled a list of some of the most common water activities here. Check out which water-based activities the RingConn Ring can withstand.

My Experience With RingConn Ring In Different Water Activities
I have been wearing my RingConn Smart Ring most of the time, including taking showers, cleaning the kitchen, washing clothes, etc. I swim twice a week for around one hour and haven’t had any problem while wearing the ring. However, I don’t prefer wearing the ring for a longer time if I stay in the pool and chill afterward.
Usually, I wash clothes by machine, but whenever I wash them by hand while wearing the ring, I don’t remove it. Not only is it comfortable, but I noticed that RingConn never really caused any trouble with me doing any chores.
Given the RingConn Ring’s operating temperature, I don’t prefer wearing it in the sauna or ice bath. Smart rings have temperature-sensitive sensors and being exposed to extreme sensors can definitely impact their efficiency.
In short, my experience with the RingConn Ring while doing water-related activities has remained good. I don’t wear the ring in extreme temperatures to avoid damage, but it can withstand normal water resistance and temperature.
I haven’t done a scuba diving session wearing the RingConn ring, so I cannot comment on its effectiveness under water pressure.

Wrap Up
Last but not least, the RingConn Ring is a good option for wearing only between 14°F and 104°F. If you try to wear it outside this range, there is a high chance of damaging the ring.
While the RingConn Ring is dustproof, efforts are still needed to make it waterproof. Until then, it would be better to wear the smart ring only during swimming, showers, etc.
