I’ve been using Oura for the past two years. However, it was not long ago that Oura introduced the ‘‘Share Report’’ feature. In August 2023, Oura introduced this amazing feature, and since then, I have been interested in sharing my Oura health reports with my doctor.
Finally, I tried it and am looking forward to sharing my experience with you.
Share Oura Data With Doctor & Get A Better Diagnosis
I found it super easy to check health vitals with the Oura app at just one glance. Besides, Both Gen2 and Gen3 Oura users are blessed with report-sharing features. Hence, unlike me, if you have a Gen2 Oura ring, do not worry!
Using the app or Oura web, I have downloaded and shared Sleep and Daily Movement insights multiple times. There are three ways to share your Oura data:
- Share Report feature (using the Oura app)
- Downloading Trends data (using Oura on the Web)
- Export Data (from Oura on the Web)
Share Oura Data Using The Share Report Feature [Oura App]
- Launch the Oura App.
- Tap on the Menu icon on the top left corner of the home screen.
3. Tap on Reports.
4. Tap on Share Report.
5. Choose the data period you want to share. You can share reports for 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days as per your requirement.
Note: Being an Oura user, I have recognized that anyone can share data for 7, 30, and 90 days using the app and cannot adjust the timeline (choosing particular dates). Also, using the app, I managed to download the report in printable PDF format or directly share it with the concerned persons.
Download Your Oura Trends [Oura Web]
If you are a Gen3 user like me, you can only download your Oura Trends data with an active membership! However, if you are an Oura Gen2 user, you do not need an active membership to access and download Oura Trends data from the Oura Web.
Curious? Here is how you can do it:
1. Open the Oura Web portal and log into your account.
2. Click on Trends.
3. Choose the date range as per your requirements.
4. Choose the report ‘period’ from the dropdown.
5. Choose Oura metrics from the dropdown that you want in the report. You can choose two different metrics from the dropdowns to analyze the correlation.
For instance, in the following diagram, data for Readiness Score and Sleep Score are compared.
6. Select Download Data. A pop-up window will open.
7. From the popup, you can add more Oura metrics to your report.
Here is the list of the parameters that you can download:
Sleep Metrics | Activity Metrics | Readiness Metrics | HR & HRV Metrics | Temperature Metrics | Respiratory Metric |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1. Sleep Score | 21. Activity Score | 39. Readiness Score | 48. Average Resting HR | 51. Temperature Deviation | 53. Respiratory Rate |

8: Hit the Download button to download the Oura data for the selected timeframe.
9. Analyze the downloaded data.
As you can see, here is the screenshot of the Oura data that I downloaded.
In this report, I compared the Readiness score with my sleep score. Analyzing these two data side by side offers a clear reflection of how my sleeping score is boosting or affecting my Readiness score.
Similarly, you can pick two different parameters and compare these parameters.
Export Your Oura Data On The Web [Oura Web]
Sometimes, I feel at ease downloading Oura data from the web instead of using the Oura app. To do so, all I need to have is access to a desktop or laptop with an internet connection. It is more convenient for me to use Oura Web to download reports because I spend most of my hours on my laptop!
Besides, both Gen2 and Gen3 Oura users can export Oura data on the web and share it with doctors. The best part is that you do not need to have an Oura membership to download Oura data from the web.
Here is how I tried to export Oura data on the web successfully:
1. Long into your Oura web page account.
2. Click on your profile icon and then go to My Account.
3. Here, Under Export Data, you can find a download option for multiple Oura metrics in CSV and JSON format.
4. Analyze the downloaded report.
In this Oura Sleep report, you can explore the co-relation among all the parameters like average breath, average heart rate, average HRV, along with awake time, bedtime end, bedtime start, deep sleep duration, and more that directly influenced my sleeping pattern. Download your Oura sleep report, too, and have an in-depth analysis to reach a better health goal.
Things I Learned While Sharing Oura Data
Although Oura is not medical-grade equipment, nor do the doctors like to rely on the Oura data, I found that downloading and sharing Oura data with health experts gave me more mental satisfaction.
While using Oura Ring for a long, I have downloaded and shared my Oura reports countless times. During this process, I have learned some important facts about sharing Oura data with doctors that you might need to consider, too. Here are some bonus points from one Oura user to another:
- I found that the Oura app presents data in a much easier way to understand than other rings (I have tried Ultrahuman and Evie, too).
- I can control which and how much data I want to download or share.
- I found it easier to compare selective trends side by side. For instance, I am more concerned with my sleeping pattern and Readiness score, so I often put these two data sets side-by-side on one graph and compare them.
- On the Oura web, I can choose “Periods” and date range to download data. In other words, I can download data for any time window!
- I usually email or message Oura data directly from Oura Web. However, for your convenience, you can download a printable PDF version of the report [app only].

Wrap Up
Call me a night owl. Sometimes, I feel really uneasy about not getting proper sleep at night. I knew it was affecting my productivity. Until I got my first Oura Ring! It took some time, but Oura helped me track my sleep patterns and body recovery so well. Besides, I started downloading Oura trends data and share with my health experts!
Now, you may argue that Oura data is not clinically accepted. It is true. However, tracking and sharing Oura data helped me to understand my body better, and if I find anything unusual reflected in the data, I immediately consult with my doctor. So don’t be too skeptical to share your Oura data with the experts.
