RingConn Gen 3 VS Oura Ring 4: Which Smart Ring Should You Choose?

Smart rings are slowly emerging as a strong competitor to smartwatches by offering health tracking in a refined and distraction-free way.

RingConn Gen 3 vs Oura Ring 4

While Oura dominated this category in the beginning, RingConn has started giving them a tough competition with new designs and improved features. This shift has become even more noticeable after the introduction of their latest Gen 3 smart ring at CES 2026.

This comparison takes a closer look at RingConn Gen 3 vs Oura Ring 4 in terms of design, features, tracking capabilities, battery life and other aspects.

Design and Comfort

In terms of design, the RingConn Gen 3 continues the slim and lightweight approach seen in its previous versions.

One important update related to its comfort is the expanded size availability. According to reports, RingConn Gen 3 will be available in sizes 6-15

On the other hand, Oura Ring 4 features a lightweight titanium design to improve both durability and wearability and is available in sizes 4-15. Its general focus is on making the rings so lightweight that you will barely notice them when wearing them. This is an approach it continues to follow in its latest models.

Health Tracking

Health tracking is where these two smart rings came closest in comparison. Based on early reports, it is expected that RingConn Gen 3 will support plenty of health monitoring tools, including:

  • Heart Rate Tracking
  • Respiratory Rate Monitoring
  • Sleep and stress tracking
  • Women’s health tracking
  • Sleep Apnea detection
  • Blood oxygen monitoring

The reported addition of Blood pressure insights that would be delivered via trend reports could further set it apart in the smart ring market. However, rather than offering medical diagnosis, these insights just help users understand the possible long-term effects of their lifestyle on their cardiovascular health

Oura Ring 4, in contrast, delivers continuous and detailed health monitoring. Instead of focusing on notifications or smartwatch-style interactions, it prioritizes collecting data silently and accurately in the background, day and night.

By monitoring metrics such as heart rate, HRV, body temperature trends and sleep stages, the ring helps users understand how their body responds to stress, rest and daily habits.

Despite this, it excels in key areas such as identifying health trends, evaluating recovery and providing readiness insights. Instead of overwhelming users with raw numbers, Oura translates complex data into simple scores that clearly indicate when to push harder and when to take it easy.

Activity Tracking

As of now, there is no confirmation on RingConn on which new activity tracking features the Gen 3 smart ring will include. However, considering that the RingConn Gen 2 had decent activity tracking, I am hopeful for a few significant upgrades in the Gen 3.

Oura Ring 4, in contrast, offers Automatic Activity Detection (AAD), which can detect your exercise, workouts or other movements. Using built-in motion sensors and algorithms, it detects activity type, duration and intensity

Users can then review, add, edit or reject the detected activity. Therefore, it could be an ideal choice for those who often want to know how their daily movements are impacting their overall health.

Cycle Tracking

While the Gen 2 creates a personal temperature baseline and determines the cycle stages from the temperature shifts, Oura’s cycle tracking is way better in my opinion. It is yet to be seen whether RingConn Gen 3 will have improved cycle tracking.

It gives Oura Ring 4 a slight advantage in cycle-specific understanding, by tracking your cycle phases using your biometrics, including period prediction, fertile window and pregnancy insights and delivers actionable insights.

App Experience

The RingConn Gen 3 app experience has not been revealed. However, considering the previous generation, there is every reason to be optimistic. The RingConn Gen 2 offers a fantastic app experience that presents health data in a clear and easy-to-understand format. The app helps users view daily health insights, activity trends and recovery data without being overwhelming.

The information is organized in a structured way, making it easy to track short term changes and long term patterns. The more you wear the ring, the app gradually adjusts itself, providing increasingly personalized insights based on the collected data.

In contrast, Oura Ring 4 offers a nice app experience for which you should have an active membership. Without the subscription, the Oura ring is basically a paperweight. Also, it is divided into three sections: Today, Vitals and My health and provides you with a quick overview of short term and long term trends. The more you use the ring, the more personalized your experience becomes.

Other Notable Differences

Along with health and activity features, there are a few additional points that differentiate the two smart rings. According to reports, the RingConn Gen 3 is introducing smart vibration alerts to notify users in case of any important health updates. In contrast, the Oura Ring 4 does not have built-in vibration or alert features on the ring itself. The ring also does not use sound or vibration as an alert mechanism, only notifications on the phone via the app.

The RingConn Gen will also support blood pressure insights, helping users track trends over time. Another step up from the Oura Ring 4.

Battery Life

Battery life has been one of the strongest points of RingConn smart rings. The company plans to continue with long battery life in the Gen 3 smart rings, which will last 13+ days on a single charge. However, Ring Conn has not yet shared complete information related to the battery specifications.

In comparison, the Oura Ring 4 offers a battery life of around 5-8 days. It is decent but shorter compared to the expected Ring Conn Gen 3.

Note: In the case of smart rings, the stated battery life differs slightly from their actual performance in real-world usage.

Price And Availability

RingConn only introduced its Gen 3 at CES 2026 with no price reveal yet. For reference, RingConn’s previous model, the Gen 2, was launched in the market at a one-time cost of $299.00 USD and it did not require a subscription. I believe the Gen 3 will also be launched at a similar price range and the same no subscription model, if not the same.

The Oura Ring 4’s pricing structure is completely clear in comparison. This ring is being sold at a premium price starting at $349 and it also requires a membership to access detailed health insights and advanced features, without which the Oura ring is pretty useless.

In terms of availability, the RingConn 3 is not yet available for purchase and while there has been no official update on when it will be available, I have a strong feeling that it might be launched sometime in the second half of the year. The Oura Ring 4 is already available worldwide and can be purchased from its official website.

Final Verdict

RingConn Gen 3 and the Oura Ring 4 both fall under the category of wearables that focus on health, but they approach this area in different ways.

RingConn Gen 3 smart ring features a long battery life, expanded size options, style variety and support for a wide range of health monitoring tools.

In comparison, the latter leans toward deep health analysis, advanced recovery and readiness insights, along with superior design and comfort.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on when the RingConn Gen 3 is officially available. If you are looking for a ring that is already available, the Oura Ring 4 is currently leading the market.

However, if RingConn delivers the battery performance that is being speculated and launches the Gen 3 at a similar price point as the Gen 2, it will become a very strong alternative to the Oura Ring.
